Enness was able to help a long-standing client of ours, who is a professional developer. The client also owns a portfolio of BTLs and SPVs and was in the process of completing a transaction on one of their residences.

Analysing the situation and recognising the significance of the change in our client's residential mortgage, we offered to undertake a comprehensive review of their existing insurance arrangements. This was to ensure that the arrangements were not only sufficient but also covered any potential shortfalls, particularly given the change in his residential mortgage.

We noticed that the client had not started thinking about estate planning. Enness suggested that the client takes this into consideration as a next step. We connected him to one of our trusted advisers to work alongside us and assess the best solution suited to the client’s needs.

After a review of their assets, it appeared they would be leaving an approximate inheritance tax liability to their beneficiaries. Therefore, we put a whole-of-life policy in place that does not expire at a particular age. It was set up in a way to ensure it was an appropriate and cost-effective solution for the clients.
