These clients, British nationals residing in Bahrain, sought Enness's expertise to facilitate their purchase of a UK home. Their goal was to establish a permanent residence for their son and to recreate the dual-base lifestyle they enjoyed in the UK.
When they decided to move back to the UK, this was going to be their permanent home, and their children were using it. We outlined the importance of having life insurance so that their children could continue to reside in the property without worrying about maintaining a mortgage should anything happen to them.
Despite the majority of providers not offering cover for those who don't reside in the UK, we found a provider who was happy to protect on a decreasing basis, which was in line with their mortgage, to ensure it would be fully repaid in the event of death.
Furthermore, we arranged for the policy to be written into a discretionary trust. This strategic move removes the proceeds from the client's estate. It ensures their children are not burdened with additional inheritance tax liabilities, a service provided at no extra cost by the provider.
