Victoria Barton
The client was a director and majority shareholder of two successful groups, which had several trading companies beneath them in different industries.
The client had several key individuals and employees within the groups, and we raised private medical insurance with the client to highlight its prevalence at the moment, given the waiting times within the NHS. We understood that he was initially interested in covering himself and his family, and we took this into account when proposing the corporate group policy.
However, once we explained that the client could offset the cost against corporation tax while also providing his employees with private healthcare, we agreed that a corporate group policy was the best solution. Furthermore, this type of policy removes the need for any medical underwriting, which means existing medical conditions can be included in the cover - a great result for this scenario.
