Given that the property would be unoccupied initially and the development works would take place a couple of months after completion, we ideally needed a policy that insured the existing structure and covered the works when they went underway to ensure we did not need to find new cover when the works did begin.
The property's reinstatement value was above market standards, and its spec made this even more challenging. However, we managed to get a policy in place within the week and accommodated the client's budget.
